Los Amigos De La Esquina (LADLE) – Supporting Children in Mexico

Our first project partnership: Los Amigos De La Esquina (LADLE) creates opportunities for disadvantaged children in Mexico

Crime in Mexico is a major problem. Many children who live on the streets or come from difficult and very poor family backgrounds are often taken in by criminal rings.

For this reason, more than 10,500 children have lost their lives in the last decade alone. A shocking number.

There are now several organizations dedicated to getting children off the streets and offering them different prospects.

One of them is “Los Amigos De La Esquina” (roughly translated: “The Friends from the Corner”) from Tulum on the Yucatán Peninsula.

The organization offers leisure activities and various educational opportunities.

At the moment, Los Amigos De La Esquina is working above all on developing “life skills” programs, in which reading, writing, and mathematics are encouraged.

But activities focused on personal development and mindset work such as meditation, yoga, entrepreneurship, and intercultural collaboration are also part of the curriculum. The children can also express themselves through various sports programs and art activities. 🙂

At Glow25, we want to support this wonderful project and the children, so in December 2022 we sent “Los Amigos De La Esquina” a check for $10,484.27 USD (€10,000) .

They can use this money specifically to fund the construction of a library for the children.
